We parted from Louise, Donald, and Clare on the morning of January 2th at the Port Elizabeth airport. They headed back to the US and we were bound for our last stop in South Africa: Shamwari Game Reserve.

you can see Shamwari north of Algoa Bay, and St. Francis Bay, where we had come from south of Port Elizabeth |
We arrived at Long Lee Manor, the oldest one of their lodges in time for lunch and to spend some time by the pool - a welcome activity after three days of unpredictible weather in St. Francis Bay.
Before we even headed out for our first game drive, Ged captured these pictures from right outside our room.

At 3:45 pm we headed to the Bottom Bar where we met our ranger "Tops" and the two other couples who would be in our group for game drives. At 4:00 pm after tea and snacks, we headed out for our first drive. It was a beautiful drive and we were happy to see so many animals.
